- Feb 24, 2009 I recently bought a Panasonic BL-C131A web cam and am trying to make it visible from outside my LAN. The address it shows on the LAN is 10.0.2.253. Because my ISP uses DHCP, I used DynDNS to provide it with a URL, call it mycam.mydomain.com. My cameras attaches to an AirPort Express, which links wirelessly to by built-in AirPort Extreme.

Assuming you have an Airport Extreme base station, then you would use the Applications -> Utilities -> Airport Utility to enable port forwarding.
Via the Airport Utility, select your Airport Extreme base station. The select Advanced -> Port Mapping.
Click on the [+], and enter:
Public TCP port: 5001
Private IP address: 10.0.2.253
Private TCP port: 5001
If your web cam uses UDP insead of TCP, then fill in the UDP fields.
NOTE: I'm also assuming that the Airport Express is the 2nd wireless base station in the home, and you should have configured it for 'Bridge' mode. Airport Utility -> Internet -> Connection Sharing: Off (Bridge Mode)
If I have made some bad assumptions about you network setup, please provide updated information.

I successfully installed a Panasonic BL-C131A Network Camera on my network and can view it on my iPhone or over an internet connection in Safari or Firefox. The only trouble is that I cannot hear the sound output while streaming video from the camera on my iPhone or a compatible OSX browser. The cameras sound codec is apparently not supported in OSX. I have Windows XP running on an iMac using Bootcamp and the sound comes through loud and clear in IE. Is this a problem on Panasonic's end or is it just that Apple refuses to support this product? This would be a really cool camera were it not for the lack of audio on my iPhone and Safari. This is a wireless network camera and can be placed anywhere to remotely monitor my home. it can be remotely tilted, up and down, and left and right and zoomed in and out. But the sound just does not work in OSX! Any suggestions?
